Introduction
Power Distribution Systems are the lifeline of any plant and modern township Safe and Optimum performance of electrical power systems is the need of the hour considering the escalated and ever-increasing demand of power and focus on Safety and Protection. A healthy power system consisting of generation, transmission, and distribution is necessary for uninterrupted power supply. It is necessary to ensure that the system is designed, installed, tested, commissioned, operated, and maintained properly. Future capacity expansions are also to be covered. They require high flexibility to cope up with already existing control systems, available space, and limited downtime. This course will help the working engineers to work with confidence to serve people with reliable power supply. The course is aimed at building knowledge related to Electrical Power Systems Design, specifications, construction, Operation, and Planning.
Objectives
- Understand Electrical Power Distribution Systems
- Equipment and Components
- Have knowledge of Sub Station Equipments, switchgear including transformers, isolators, circuit breakers, etc.
- Understand the planning of Power Distribution System
- Learn Specifications, Construction, Operations and Maintenance of Power Distribution System
- Learn the technical requirements, configuration philosophies, design practices, and work processes
- Learn about possible Energy Saving opportunities
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
Who Should Attend?
Electrical and Power Engineers, Project Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, and Supervisors, and operating staff of electrical substations will find this course very useful for enhancing their knowledge related to electrical systems, components, and electrical safety.
